\n3 When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
\n4 In God, whose word I praise,
\nin God I trust; I will not be afraid.
\nWhat can mortal man do to me?<\/p>\n
Most of you who are reading this were involved in our online teaching time yesterday.<\/p>\n
Today, I simply want to highlight the main point from that message.<\/p>\n
When David said, \u201cWhen I am afraid,\u201d he was acknowledging that moments of fear are a natural part of every person\u2019s life. The KJV express it well: \u201cWhat time I am afraid.” Everyone has times that fear grips their emotions. Those who would deny this are presenting a prideful, superficial Christian life.<\/p>\n
Fear is a natural emotional response to circumstances which we perceive to threaten our comfort zones, our safety zones or our livelihood. I say \u201cperceive\u201d because often times our concerns are not connected to reality. That\u2019s why fear is defined by many with the acronym: F.E.A.R is False Evidence Appearing Real.<\/p>\n
Having the emotion of fear is not sinful. However, how we respond to that emotion can become very sinful. David found that the antidote to fear was faith. v.3 \u201cWhen I am afraid, I will trust in you.\u201d It is extremely important that we, by faith, bring God into the midst of our situations. Right now, if anything is troubling you, take it to God. Ask HIm to help you to discern fiction from reality, and put your trust in Him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
