Six Principles – seed of ideas by John MacArthur Jr.<\/b><\/div>\n

We are continuing our discussion from our last devotional thought.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Since God\u2019s will is not lost, it is not something to be found. Rather, it is something to be experienced.<\/span><\/div>\n
How, then, do we \u201cfind\u201d (experience) God\u2019s will?<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
We are looking at SIX PRINCIPLES to experiencing God\u2019s will.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
The first three principles are: You Must Be SAVED; You Must Be SPIRIT-FILLED; You Must Be Living a SANCTIFIED Life.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Today we look at the fourth principle:<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
4. You Must Be Living a \u00a0 S U B M I S S I V E \u00a0 Life<\/span><\/div>\n
Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Submission is the language of a servant: Many of the New Testament writers joyfully referred to themselves as bond servants (Rom, Phil, Titus, James, 2 Peter, Jude, Rev). A \u201cbond servant\u201d is one who willing commits his life of service to the life to the master.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Jesus said, \u201cSo you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.\u201d\u00a0 (Luke 17:10)<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
God will never say \u201cThank You.\u201d We say \u201cthank you\u201d when someone has met a need for us. Our God has no needs.\u00a0 We are the ones who have needs and so we serve God as our way of saying thank you to Him.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
The attitude of a servant is, \u201cI\u2019ll go anywhere you tell me to go, I\u2019ll do anything you tell me to do, I\u2019ll say anything you tell me to say.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
The practical expression of submission is in our everyday living. Are we serving those in authority over us in a Christ-like way?<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Ephesians 6:5\u20136 (NIV)<\/span><\/div>\n
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
We can reverse the question and ask, \u201cAre we treating those whom we have authority over in a Christ-like way?\u201d For Paul goes on to say,\u00a0 \u201cMasters, do the same to them…\u201d (Ephesians 6:9).<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
We will never know God\u2019s will for our lives if we are not wiling to do what He wills.\u00a0 Why would God waste His time (so to speak) showing us His will for our lives if we are not willing to do His will?<\/span><\/div>\n\n\n
