The story of God creating mankind and then the fall of man demonstrates a number of firsts for man. For the rest of this week, I will list 17 first times. <\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
1.  The First Responsibility God Gave to Man<\/div>\n
2.  The First Commandment God Gave to Man<\/div>\n
3.  The First Warning God Gave to Man<\/div>\n
4.  The First Time Man Was Confronted by Satan and Deceived by His Crafty Ways<\/div>\n
5. The First Time Man was Tempted to Doubt God\u2019s Word<\/div>\n
6. The First Time Man was Tempted to Doubt God\u2019s Motives<\/div>\n
7. The First Time Man Sinned in His Thoughts<\/div>\n
8. The First Time Man Sinned in His Actions<\/div>\n
9. The First Time Man Collaborated With Another to Sin<\/div>\n
10.  The First Time Man Felt Guilt and Shame Because of Sin<\/div>\n
11. The First Time Man Felt Alienated From Each Other<\/div>\n

Genesis 3:8\u201313 (ESV)<\/div>\n
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, \u201cWhere are you?\u201d 10 And he said, \u201cI heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.\u201d 11 He said, \u201cWho told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?\u201d 12 The man said, \u201cThe woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.\u201d 13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, \u201cWhat is this that you have done?\u201d The woman said, \u201cThe serpent deceived me, and I ate.\u201d<\/div>\n

12. The First Time Man Felt Alienated From God <\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cAnd they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.\u201d (verse 8)<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
When we feel guilt and shame, we should run to God not from Him.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
13. The First Time Man Was Afraid of God<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cBut the Lord God called to the man and said to him, \u201cWhere are you?\u201d And he said, \u201cI heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was  naked, and I hid myself.\u201d  (verses 9-10)<\/div>\n
We don\u2019t have to be afraid of God when we are right with God.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
14. The First Time Man Blamed Someone Else For Their Sin<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cHe said, \u201cWho told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?\u201d The man said, \u201cThe woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree,  and I ate.\u201d  (verses 11-12)<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
15. The First Time Man Blamed God For Their Sin<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cThe man said, \u201cThe woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.\u201d  (verse 12)<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
16. The First Time Man Confessed His Sin Before God<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cThen the Lord God said to the woman, \u201cWhat is this that you have done?\u201d  The woman said, \u201cThe serpent deceived me, and I ate.\u201d (verse 13)<\/div>\n

KJV Bible Commentary <\/div>\n
Satan\u2019s promise in verse 5 was technically true (as revealed in vs. 7 and now in vs. 22). Here they were now like God, fixed in a moral nature; but the terrible thing was that it was fixed in sin, not righteousness. Verse 7 reveals that they were like God, knowing good and evil; but their eyes had been opened to behold all things in the light of their own sinfulness. They knew good, but they were unable to do it; they knew evil, but they were unable to resist it. This is what is called total depravity.<\/div>\n

17.  The First Questions God Asked Man<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cBut the Lord God called to the man and said to him, \u201cWhere are you?\u201d (verse 9)<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
\u201cThen the Lord God said to the woman, \u201cWhat is this that you have done?\u201d  (verse 13)<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
There we have it, seventeen firsts for mankind. Unfortunately, the first was only the beginning of man marred by sin, listening to the wrong voice, doubting God, making selfish decisions, plotting evil with others, alienating himself from God and others, blaming anyone but himself.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n
Today, God still asks man, \u201cWhere are you?\u201d Not because He doesn\u2019t know where we are, but to give us an opportunity to face the truth of where we are.<\/div>\n\n\n
