Most of 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 has to do with how God wants to use us to bring others to Christ. Beginning in verse 18, Paul uses the term “reconcile” to describe what it means to have a relationship with God. Reconciled means that two parties who are separated from each other are now brought together in harmony.

2 Corinthians 5:18–20 (ESV)

18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

1.  We have been reconciled to God through Christ.

18 “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself…”

2.  We have been given a MINISTRY of reconciliation:

18 “…and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;”

We are to help other become right with God.

3.  We have been given a MESSAGE of reconciliation:

19 “…and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.”

That message is stated as this:

19 “that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their

        trespasses against them,…..”

4.  We have been given a METHOD of reconciliation:

20 “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.

We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

As representatives of God, we are to implore people to be reconciled to God.

When was the last time you implored someone to get right with God?

Today, we have an unusual opportunity to share Christ through many communications tools.

Let’s take advantage of this season and share Jesus with our lost friends and relatives.
